Description: I am quite proud of this image as it shows just how much I have learnt from the course. It was taken early evening at Caerphilly Castle and is one of my 6 photographs for my final assignment. This time last year I would not have had a clue where to start; the camera would have been set to auto and I would no doubt have been very disappointed with the result.

I also enjoy doing something totally different to what I do during the day, and I particularly enjoy meeting new people. The field trips are a highlight of the course!

Description: This is a good friend of our family's daughter. Her eyes are so stunning I thought the best way to show them off would be to desaturate the rest of the photo. This photograph has actually won me a runners up place in the 2009 City & Guilds Photography competition. My image will now be displayed in an exhibition at the Morley Gallery in London from 22nd & 28th July 2009.

Description: This is a photograph I have taken of a Speckled Wood butterfly. I have a keen interest in natural history and the environment in general and wanted to try and hone my photographic skills so I could be able to take, process and display better photos of wildlife in Wales. The City and Guilds course has been really informative, the tutor very helpful and fellow students extremely supportive. It has been an enjoyable year.
